Sustainability management policies for ecotourism in Ayacucho, Peru; Políticas de gestión de sostenibilidad al ecoturismo en Ayacucho, Perú
Resumo: In recent years, ecotourism and sustainability have become topics of great relevance globally due to growing concern for environmental conservation and sustainable development. The effective implementation of sustainability management policies in ecotourism not only has a significant impact on the preservation of these resources, but also contributes to the well-being of local communities and the economic development of the region. If resources are developed without applying the principles of sustainability, there is a risk of reducing the quality of the tourist destination’s offer, and even more so, of destroying the possibilities of developing this sector that can contribute decisively to the development of the country. Within this context, the main objective of this work is to describe the satisfaction of the actors involved with respect to policies and regulations related to ecotourism and sustainability in Ayacucho, Peru. A methodology is proposed based on a descriptive approach supported by a non-experimental design, with emphasis on field research of a descriptive nature and a quantitative approach. The instrument for collecting information was a survey with a Likert scale, applied to tourists, local activists, tourism companies and government authorities. The consistency in positive responses from local activists suggests that local initiatives for conservation and sustainable development are generally well received. Responses from tourists, tourism companies, and government authorities indicate areas for improvement and opportunities to adjust strategies and policies that promote a more satisfactory and sustainable ecotourism experience in Ayacucho. © 2024, Universidad del Zulia.
